Richard Rivera’s Eagles of New York collection is available for touring exhibitions in 2014. Comprising twenty-six to thirty-six large-format images presented in transparency lightboxes ranging in size from 36 x 24 inches to 88 x 27 inches.

Wall Street Overlook   2011

Transparency lightbox, 42 x 26 inches

Grand Central Eagle   2011

Transparency lightbox, 42 x 31 inches

Photographed during and around the Occupy Wall Street protests from 2011 to 2012, Rivera’s photographs radiate a richness and depth while making a subtle social commentary on life in the City, and how the best qualities that reflect the intrinsic character of New York tend to go unnoticed when we are overwhelmed with the bustle of daily life. These marvelous works of art have galvanized everyone who learns of Rivera’s creative journey.

Rivera, the quintessential New Yorker, was born and raised on Manhattan’s
east side, graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and has been a photographer, artist, and writer for over 30 years. Rivera’s work is in the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Museum.

Eagles of New York is the first of a planned series of art projects in major cities around the world including Richard Rivera’s Faces of Melbourne™ collection begun December 2012.
